Precious Blood
There is a tiny booklet, written by Kenneth Hagin in 1984, entitled The Precious Blood of Jesus. The title refers to Bible verses found in I Peter 1:18-19 which say;
For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.
Hagin then identifies seven ways in which Jesus’ blood is precious to us. It has:
- Redeeming power, Acts 20:28
- Cleansing power, John 1:7 & Rev.1:5
- Pacifying power, Col.1:20
- Reconciling power, Eph. 2:13
- Emboldening power, Heb.10:19
- Overcoming power, Rev. 12:11
It seems that THE BLOOD of Jesus is not much spoken about anymore. It is time to revive the practice of “pleading the blood” to utilize the mighty power available to us. Hagin points out one more wonderful power carried by the blood:
7) Song-Inspiring power, Rev.5:9-10
And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation, you have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”
Even in heaven we will be praising and thanking Him for what He did for us!
